From March 2023 until November 2023 worked as a student representative in the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Congress team at WdKA. I came in touch with WdKA's education station through their station skill 'Inclusivity: A Learning Journey'. Since my presentation there about institutional ableism in higher education, I have been invited to present about the same topic in front of the teacher team of the Docent Beeldende Kunst & Vormgeving course at WDKA on May 8th, 2023. I was also one of the workshop facilitators at the WdKA EDI Congress in November of 2023, and provided a workshop about disability in the classroom.

Accessibility, inclusion, and intersectionality are important topics for me. Not only because I am disabled myself, but also because I stay in touch with disabled people in my community. This includes both tutors and students at WdKA and EUR. Knowing the challenges and discrimination faced by my disabled friends and I, it became my aim to change the attitudes people have towards disability in my universities. In this, I often use articles from (critical) disability studies authors to support my approach and claims.

Since May 2024, I have co-founded and become the chair of the Accessibility Committee at Erasmus University College (EUC). Together with four fellow students, we organize events that are all about accessibility, disability, and care. These events are meant to get students to engage more with these topics, and to hopefully shift their attitudes towards disability in a positive way. We also collaborate with other committees that are part of our study association EUCSA, such as the People of Colour Committee. On top of organizing events, our committee keeps regular contact with the Student Academic Affairs Council, the Diversity Coordinator, and (building) management to address issuess with accessibility that are present at EUC. Our other members are: Léa (treasurer), Pien, Kathi, and Chloe (general members).
